QUESTION

Subject: I don't know what my role is
Question: I don't know what my role is at my stepdaughter's wedding. Stepdaughter and her mother are extremely close, and they are doing all the planning. I haven't been included at all, and when I offer to help both stepdaughter and her mom tell me they have it under control. They've even gone so far to tell me that all I need to do is show up on the wedding day. I've been married to my husband for 18 years and have never felt like more of an outsider in my life. Should I push further or just not say anything and be treated as an outsider? Its pretty clear that my stepdaughter doesn't need nor does she want my involvement in her wedding cause she feels that's her mom's role.
