QUESTION

Subject: I am the Mother of the groom.
Question: I am the Mother of the groom. My sweet daughter in law to be, is miserable because her mom and siblings are full of negative comments about the upcoming wedding. The family has made past decisions as a group and the bride is the first in the family to get engaged and break the cycle of doing only what the "family" agrees upon. She is trying to stay close to her family but spends less and less time with them because of the hurtful comments. Am I correct in suggesting to spent time with them if they are kind, but if they are rude, run like a bandit. My future daughter in law is a loving person and her family sees what they are doing and dont let up. This makes me so sad and concerns me how this young couple will remember their wedding.
