QUESTION

Subject: Future Monster-in-law
Question: Me and my future mother-in-law do not see each other and I try to avoid all family functions where she may be present. My fiance is also not close with his mother and barely exchange a hello when they do see each other. Obviously we are inviting both his father and mother to the wedding but my fiance believes his mother will not even attend. If that is the case, I do not want her name used in the acknowledgement that will be printed in the paper after the wedding. Will this be crossing the line or would her not showing up, already have crossed that line?
