Subject: My brother has been in recover
Question: My brother has been in recovery from alcohol from almost 8 months. i am sooooo proud of him! My problem is that, my husband and I are planning our anniversary party and caught between two families. I don't think it appropriate to serve alcoholic beverages at our party. However, he thinks that my brother should be able to abstain for the evening so that his out of town family members can enjoy themselves without this restriction. He is a different culture and when his family comes together the eat spicy foods and cosume a lot of booze. I don't wish to turn this into a family squabble. What is the appropriate ettiquette for this type of situation?
