Question: A Co-worker of mine who is only a casual acquaintance is have a 2nd wedding. Her staff is throwing a bridal shower for her. There's the option of contributing to a group gift or they've suggested gift cards to resturants or discount houses (Wal-mart/Target). One more thing. She's been living with this gentleman for over seven years. First - Is it inappropriate to have bridal showers for 2nd weddings? She's in her late 30's/early 40's so it's not like she doesn't have "stuff". And second - I feel this is just one step up from outright asking for money. I'm not really interested in giving a gift card to Wal-mart so they can go out and get some toilet paper. Am I being overly sensitive? I want to be a "team player" but I don't want to be used either. Maybe I should go out and get them the toilet paper and just be done with it.
