Question: Our daughter and her fiancee are having a ceremony/reception in the city they live in, and then we (her parents) are hosting another reception in our hometown a month later. How do you do the invitations? Do you do one wedding invitation (they want to invite "everyone" to their wedding/reception, knowing that most won't attend) and then a separate invitation for the second reception - or include an invitation to the second reception along with the original wedding invitation? If the later can be done, how would you do the responses - two response cards? Or one card with an indication whether you will attend, one or the other, or both? Since we are not really "hosting" the original wedding/reception (they are paying), then how could we word our invitation to the reception we are having?
