QUESTION
From: Wedding Palace Visitor
Subject:
Question: My sister is dating a black man (we are white), and my brother does not approve. I like the guy, but at the same time, I respect my mother's wishes (which is that she keep that part of her life private from the rest of our family that happens to be OLD SOUTH). My brother has refused to even celebrate my mother's birthday if he (the boyfriend) is there. I also do not want the wedding to be their "coming out" party to the rest of the family. I love my sister (who will be completely devastated if I do not let her bring her boyfriend), but I do not want for there to be drama at the wedding. What do I do?! I am about an inch away from just wanting to elope! Please help! Thank you!
