QUESTION
From: Wedding Palace Visitor
Subject:
Question: My husband and his exwife have been divorced for 20 years. Hubby and his ex have agreed to pay for my stepdaughter's wedding. We don't have a joint bank account so I'm not paying for the wedding. However I would think after being married to my husband for 15 years I should get my name on the invitation out of respect. My stepdaughter tells me no and that I was no kind of mother to her and by wanting my name on the invitation its a slap in the face to her mother. Should I just go along with my stepdaughter's wishes to keep the peace in the family? I feel very disrespected. My stepdaughter says she'll gladly repay my husband any of his money to keep my name off her invitations. I've never felt more like an outsider before. I definitely know now that I mean absolutely nothing to my stepdaughter since her Mom is so important to her.
