QUESTION
From: Wedding Palace Visitor
Subject:
Question: I am seeking advice re: maintaining proper etiquette when having prayer before dinner at the reception. The minister who is performing the ceremony is the pastor of the church we are currently attending. However, I was raised in a different church and my childhood pastor will be attending the ceremony and reception. He and his wife are very dear to me. He is retired and no longer performs weddings. Is it improper to ask this retired minister to say the prayer before dinner or should I have the minister who is performing the ceremony do this ? I really want to ask the older man, since he is so special to me and I hold a lot of honor for him, but I don't want to violate what is proper. Any advice?
