Question: I originally bought enough Ivy bowls with floating candles for each couple at the reception tables, as favors. and didnt know if it was proper (for decoration purposes.) to light the candles or even fill them with water and NOT light the candles? My future mother-in-law and sis-in-law say yes, I thought no. I since then have come up with 2 other homemade favors for EACH of the wedding guests to take home, I would LIKE to light the candles for decoration purposes, as the centerpieces are plain hurricane lamps provided by the hall, i didnt want to "waste" the money on a ring of flowers to surround the hurricane lamps for 2 reasons, I didnt want to give the guests the impression they could take home the whole centerpiece, and thought it would be odd to tell them they could only take the ring of flowers, what the heck would they do with that? I do have a set of bride & groom ceramic motorcycle banks to go with our Harley theme, that will be on each table for 1 lucky guest to take home. So would it now be proper to light the candles and would it have been if I didnt have these 2 other favors?
