QUESTION
From: Wedding Palace Visitor
Subject:
Question: We are planning to get married at 4pm at our church on May 27 and the service will take 45 minutes. We will be having our reception at 8pm. We want to have a small dinner for both our immediate families (6o total) and we will invite 200 total for the reception. Since we are not having everyone for the dinner is it inappropriate to have a 4pm wedding? It would give guests that are not invited to the dinner 3hrs to have dinner on their own before the reception - is that too much time? We are having alot of older aunts/uncles for the dinner which would be at around 6pm as we would need 1 hr for photographs. I suggested an evening 6pm wedding but my fiance does not want to get married that late and said we wouldn't have dinner till 7 then which is too late for a lot of older people plus the fact we want to have lots of light for photos.
