QUESTION
From: Wedding Palace Visitor
Subject:
Question: We are in a turmoil about the times for the wedding. My daugher and I feel if we are having a 5 o'clock reception we want the wedding to start at 2pm. We are having trouble with the groom and his mother. She feel there is to much time between the wedding and reception. My time line see it like this. 2pm wedding start 3pm wedding ends 330pm reception line ends 3:45 bride and groom walk out and have bubbles then proceed back in church for pictures 4pm pictures start 4:30 hopefully pictures are done and off to reception 5:00 reception arrival of both parents and bride and groom Our problem is they want the wedding to start at 3pm. I don't feel that is enough time even for the guests to get to the reception which is a half hour away. Most of the wedding I have gone to the guests wait outside the church until the bride and groom leave and then they either leave or come back into the church to take pictures them selves. Anyone from out of town are family and will be staying at the church for the full family portriate. Any suggestions on how to handle the groom. This is becoming a full fledge flight between my daugher and the groom. I must add that the grooms mother, who is not paying a dine has been asking for many things that should be decided by my daughter. We are of different faiths. We have been very accomodating to using the song she wants in the wedding, the clery she wants, a flower on the altar to remember her dead husband, etc. We are ready to stand firm on this time issue.
