QUESTION
From: Wedding Palace Visitor
Subject:
Question: My future in laws, mainly my fiance's father, are dead set against us having alcohol at our wedding or it being a part of the day in any way. His dad refuses to come to the wedding if he knows of any alcohol. I want to celebrate my day they way I have always dreamed of. I want people to let loose and have a good time. I understand his desire and would be willing to compromise with two receptions in the same day. He still will not attend if we do it this way. So the only option is to do the second reception on a different day, which is extrememly inconvenient and way more pricey. My fiance wants his parents to be there but I think it is way too much of a hassle to ask people to come back and celebrate another day. I am going to try to talk to them but I think it is futile. Every time I think about the inconvenience this will cause makes me more and more upset. I really want a typical wedding celebration. Do you have any advice?
