Response: Hi Clarence, forgive my response because I am a professional wedding photographer, but have another perspective you might not have considered yet. Yes you can save a few dollars if a pro comes out for a few and leaves, but is that all you want ? Did you not want a nice album for your new bride? Meaning great storytelling images of the whole event, showcasing the emotions and great fun you will have ? Friends will not get those kinds of images. They will get cute shots of friends at the tables, or turning the disposable cameras back in their own faces cute too, but will not be focusing on you and your bride and catching great journalistic, storytelling images as the day progresses. If you are doing a simple event, maybe thats OK, but if you are still going through the same standards as your first wedding, is your new wife less important ? I would just hate for you to save a few bucks now and pay for it for the rest of your marriage. If you cant afford it, thats one thing, but if you can and you are just 'pinching', I might at least visit a few photographers and consider the options before making that decision. I hear too many times from couples who 'wish' they had hired a pro. Be careful.
