RESPONSE
From: Alford
Response: Yes Marilyn, it is common practice to pay for most of the vendors before the wedding. Our final payment is due 2 weeks prior. Remember too, you will be swamped with things to do and FORGET paying anyone on your wedding day.... You will be too occuped with being a bride. My suggestion is if you have hired true professionals, pay them and trust them and relax. Leave them to their job. And put another way, we photographers have lots of up front bills to pay and I never appreciated paying the labs, albums etc and then waiting on the bride to 're-pay' me. We are professionals and should be treated as such. If its a beginner photographer and you are not getting a good feeling of trust with them, then you might consider talking with the photographer about your uneasy feelings. This is why hiring the best pro for the job is so important.
