Response: Ribbon on wedding cakes is very common today. I havent seen satin ribbon that has bled so far. Many bakers choose to use semi-sheer ribbon, however, just in case there might be a problem. The ribbon is secured in back and sometimes in front as well if it puckers by using a dab of icing. Most bakers assemble the cake on-site, so it is easy to add the ribbon and secure it.
