Response: It is socially improper to mention gifts in any way in a wedding invitation. You do it verbally and only when asked. If you dont want gifts, then dont register. When guests ask, you can tell them you want money. I wouldnt have a money tree. That is too blatant of a request for your guests to help finance the wedding, which is socially taboo.
