Response: Hello Karley, As you can see, you have much too much time between your ceremony and reception. Either your ceremony needs to start later or, if that isnt possible, then the reception needs to start earlier. Assuming you keep with the 1 p.m. ceremony, ending at 1:45, your guests would go to the reception location where they would find beverages and appetizers. You would arrive no later than 2:30, and preferably earlier, and the reception would begin at that time.
If you want to have the reception at 6 p.m. and go into the evening, then work backward from that time and you would have the ceremony starting about 4:30.
If you keep your guests waiting from 1:45 until 6 p.m., you will find that most of them wont wait. They will either choose to attend the ceremony and go home, or they will skip the ceremony and attend only the reception.
If there is no way you can change the time of either the ceremony or the reception, then you would have no choice but to invite only immediate family to the ceremony and invite all of the guests to only the reception. If you attempt to keep the schedule you presently have, then you come across as insensitive to your guests and everyone will be grumpy.
