RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: Hello Lita, Do you and your husband want to renew your vows after only 5 yers? If not, dont let someone talk you into anything you might be uncomfortable doing. If you do want to renew your vows, the ceremony can be as simple or elaborate as you would like.

Anyone can perform the ceremony, since it is not a legal ceremony. You would recite a modified version of wedding vows. Instead of being asked if you 'take this man,' you would be asked if you promise to continue to love and support one another, etc.

You can wear anything you would like and that fits with the location and time of the cermony. I have had couples in jeans who stood up at a family picnic and renewed their vows. Others have chosen to have a more formal ceremony and she wore an evening gown.

If you have children, you might want to have them stand with you. If not, you do not need to have special witnesses other than all the family members who attend. You have great flexibility in what you do. Enjoy yourselves and make it as simple or as complex as you want.
