RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: Hello Nilsa, It is socially taboo to mention gifts in the wedding invitation in any manner, including mentioning registries. The appropriate way to let guests know that you prefer money is to not register, then let your parents and the wedding party know that you prefer money. That way, when people ask, they can be verbally informed of your preference. I would avoid having an actual money tree. Many people are offended by them and you dont usually get that much money. People dont typically bring a lot of cash with them to a wedding. They are more apt to place a check or cash in a card before the wedding, then bring or mail the card.
