Response: Hello Carol, Yes, you should be in some of the photos. Typically, the bride, and sometimes the groom, make arrangements with the photographer. At their last meeting, the photographer should ask for a list of photos to be taken. A good photographer will ask about family structures and find out who should be included. You, however, may not learn this information until just before the wedding. I typically provide the information at the rehearsal, letting family members know the time and location where they should be for the photos. Often, the bride, groom, and wedding party are photographed first. Family then joins them shortly before the ceremony. If you dont hear something a few days before the wedding, you might ask the bride if you will be in the photos. Let her know that you want to be there on time.
Since your husband is the grooms father, he and his ex-wife traditonally host the rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding. You may want to ask your husband to talk to his son about the arrangements. It is possible that the mother and her husband have already taken care of them. If so, your husband should offer to pay for half the cost.
