RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: Hello Chanel, The save the date cards go out 6 to 9 months before the wedding, so around the first of year. They are sent only to out of town family and friends unless you are having a destination wedding, then they would go to all guests.

The save the date contains limited information, such as your names, the wedding date, and location, and a note stating that more information will follow at a later date.

The wedding invitations are mailed 8 weeks before the wedding. You will enclose an RSVP card in them. The return date on the RSVP should be about June 20. You can plan that about 75% of your local guests will attend.

If you want to find out how many of the out of town guests may plan to attend, you can include a note on the save the date card asking them to e-mail you if they plan to attend. You can also set up a free web site on www.weddingchannel.com or www.theknot.com and ask guests to visit your web site and indicate whether they will attend or not. If you set up a web site, be sure to keep it updated.
