RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: Hello Denise, It is unfortunate that your friend chooses to make such comments. I wouldnt be too sure that he doesnt know what he is saying. I have a brother-in-law, also an older man, who says things like that on purpose with the intent of giving the impression that he is superior to others. If the man is married, can you talk to his wife or perhaps to one of his children and let them know that you are concerned that he might say something that would offend. He might take what they say better than he would if it came from someone other than you. They can be more firm with him.
