RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: Hello Jane, In generations past the groom paid for the brides bouquet and a few other things and the brides family paid for everything else. Today that is no longer true. The bride and groom are responsible for all the costs of their wedding. If their parents want to help, they will volunteer to do so and will indicate how much they can afford to help. They may choose to pay for certain items or give the couple a sum of money to be spent as the couple chooses. To attempt to divide up things according to antiquated 'rules' can create problems.
