RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: Hi Maggie, You can do the father/daughter dance at various times, depending on what you want. The timeline I often follow is:
meal is served, either a sit-down dinner or a buffet
toasts
cake cutting
first dances

This allows a transition from the meal time into the dancing portion of the reception. You can do the dance, and first dance with the groom, earlier, but that makes things a bit more choppy by starting then stopping the dancing.
