RESPONSE
From: Sandra
Response: From what you have said, it appears that your mother was the one who acted inappropriately, not the venue. Until you sign a contract, a venue, caterer, photographer, and any other business is available to the first person to come along with money in hand. Asking them to hold it for two weeks without any financial guarantee is ludicrious. If you hadnt taken it, the venue could have lost money.

Asking them to upgrade the services they provide because your mother was upset is naive. No reputable business is going to do that unless they are desperate for business. The burden is on you and your family to bend over backwards to act in a professional manner. You will have a special wedding day IF you act like professionals and not spoiled children who are trying to take advantage of the facility.
