RESPONSE
From: Hansen, CWP
Response: Several reasons why the wedding veil covers the face of the bride.

1. Tradition - some brides just follow the old tradition of covering their face until either their escort removes it when giving them away or the groom removes it after being announced Mr. and Mrs. tradition was to show dominance by the man and for the bride to cover herself until she was married so the groom would not see her

2. Cultures - Many cultures such as Indian and 3rd World countries have planned weddings, in which the a girls parents and a mans parents put their children together to marry. Most of the time the couple do not know who they are marrying until the day of. So tradition was to cover the face until announced Mr. and Mrs. then the man would see the woman he was marrying.
