RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: This sounds like an event that occurs in a few areas of the country called a 'Jack and Jill' or a 'Buck and Doe' party. If so, that is actually a fund raiser for the bride and groom. It is a major breach of etiquette to charge guests to attend such an event. This would not be considered a shower and guests do not bring gifts. You may want to check with the planners to determine exactly what the purpose of the party is, then you will know more about your involvement and whether you want to be involved at all.
