RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: You are not the only one to have a panic attack at the thought of getting married. I just coordinated a reception for a couple that had dated for 12 years. He proposed 4 times and each time she had a panic attack at the idea of marrying. They finally sought a counselor and went through several sessions of pre-maritial counseling so that she could explore her fears in a safe environment and he could understand them. The counselor actually married them one morning on the spur of the moment after a counseling session. Now, the bride is happy that she got married and they get along wonderfully.

You may want to consider counseling to help you and your fiance talk through your fears. He needs to hear them and understand where you are coming from and a neutral third party can facilitate that.
