Response: It depends on whether you are asking about a personal wedding planner/coordinator or about services provided by a churh coordinator, caterers coordinator, etc.
An independent planner/coordinator that works for you can help you find the right location and the right combination of merchants that you need to create the wedding of your dreams and within your budget. Then she will coordinate the rehearsal activities along with your officiant. She will also coordinate activities on the wedding day for both the ceremony and reception. Several weeks before the wedding, she and you should create a master plan for the day. She will share that plan with other merchants DJ, photographer, etc. and they will work together as a team to make your day go smoothly.
A church or facility coordinator represents the facility. He/she will help you with matters related to the facility, such as unlocking doors, showing you the available linens and kitchen items, but they will not help you with all aspects of the planning. They do not visit merchants with you, help you choose your gown or possibly the menu, and other important details.
A wedding coordinator associated with a florist, caterer, or another business assists you in choosing the services that their business will provide, but they do not help you with any other aspects of the planning.
