Response: It depends on the bride. If, like you said, she is close to her brother, then he should have the honor. My husband walked two of his sisters down the aisle as their father was not involved in their lives at all. It will be a personal decision the bride needs to make. It should not have anything to do with who pays for what. It is an honor to be asked and should be reserved for someone the bride is close to.
