RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: The wedding and the reception that you are hosting are two separate events and they require two sets of invitations. The invitations to the reception that you host should be mailed immediately after the wedding. If you are certain that most of your local friends and family wont attend the wedding and you dont want them to feel that they need to mail gifts, the bride and groom can include a small card in those wedding invitations saying 'A reception will be held in month in city. More information will follow.' That way, people know that they will get to see the bride and groom and they can bring a gift to that reception rather than sending it for the wedding. However, that means that the couple will need to arrange to get the gifts home.
