Response: Hi Amy:
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Wedding decorating...that is my favorite thing to do!

Before you think about your 'colors', I think you need to focus on three areas. #1 is your budget; #2 is your setting, either formal or informal; and #3 is you and your fiances personality and likes and dislikes.

If you are having a night reception, candles are always beautiful. Do you like flowers? At my sons wedding we did clear glass vases with red roses placed on a mirror with little votives next to them. You cant go wrong with roses. Do you not like flowers or are roses too expensive? There are lots of other flowers you can get in 'red' that will also look nice. Again, its whatever you and your fiance like. If your ceremony and reception is informal, you can go in another direction. Some people do balloon arrangements, some do potted plants in a terra cotta pot which is either painted or covered with colored tissue paper. Again, candles are an option either different sized pillars arranged on a tray or floating candles in a bowl.

If you google in 'wedding decoration ideas' or 'wedding centerpiece ideas' on the computer, you will get LOTS of ideas. Martha Stewart Weddings is another good source with inspiration.

Again, I believe the decorations need to be done within your budget; within the formality or informality of the wedding; and should be a reflection of your tastes. Then you can incorporate the 'colors' into whatever you choose.

I hope you have a beautiful wedding!
