RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: I encourage my clients to include ethnic traditions in their weddings as much as possible. That is what truly reflects your personality and your heritage. Have you explained the meaning of the various traditions to your fiance? The lasso and the arras actually have a Biblical basis that makes them particularly appropriate for a wedding. He may be very happy to incorporate one or more of the traditions into your ceremony.

Alternatively, I have had men of Hispanic discent who wanted to distance themselves from their heritage and who refused to include any of the mentioned items in their ceremonies. The only way you will know how your fiance feels is to ask him.
