Response: Hi Gennifer:
Well, I could go on and on about how to save money, but here are a few thoughts for you...
Ceremony site: its whatever you like! A beach or park is nice. Just check with the local parks department on fees. If you want a church wedding, that can also be inexpensive. Just eliminate all the 'frills' such as: aisle runner, pew decorations, lots of flowers, etc. You get the picture.
For the reception: If you are having a church wedding, most churches have a fellowship hall. One inexpensive and VERY NICE option would be to have an early afternoon wedding, say 1 or 2 oclock, and then have a dessert reception immediatly following. This is a VERY inexpensive reception that would still serve lots of people. To really save, make everything yourself, maybe with a little help! Serve a variety of desserts like brownies, bars, mini eclairs, etc. and a variety of beverages such as coffees, tea, punch, etc.
You can save lots by NOT having a videographer, a DJ, not serving alcohol, a fancy dinner, etc.
Check around on other wedding websites as this subject has been covered extensively, mostly by other brides, with suggestions as to how they saved on their wedding/reception.
