RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: You dont mention the time of the wedding. If it coincides with a meal time, you need to provide more food than if it will be in the afternoon or later in the evening. The least expensive thing to provide is vegie trays, meats, cheese, etc. That can also be the most boring. I attended a wedding in the spring where they served soup and bread along with cupcakes and ice cream - no wedding cake.

If the wedding will be in the afternoon, you might have a dessert reception with wedding cake and a variety of mini bite-sized desserts. Guests love the opportunity to try different things. You could also add a chocolate fountain. Men seem to love them even more than women.
