RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: Hello Kate, Congratulations on your approaching engagement. Either set of parents can initiate a meeting or you can arrange it. If you think the parents will get along well together, then inviting them for dinner would be fine. If you are not sure that they might have much in common, then they might meet over dessert. Also, if you want to keep the meeting short, then have it at a restaurant. If you think that the parents will enjoy spending time together, then the meeting might occur at a home where there is no pressure to leave after a short time. There is no right or wrong way to handle the meeting.
