RESPONSE
From: Tooman
Response: Hi Alison, Each state has its own legal requirements
for those who can legally perform a wedding. In my state,
anyone who is licensed by their denomination can
perform a wedding. Other states, such as Oregon and
Callifornia, require that the person first obtain
a license in that state. You can find out the
requirements in PA by contacting the Bureau of Vital
Statistics in Harrisburg. They may have a web site
with the information on it. Depending on when the
wedding will be held, your uncle may be able
to obtain a state license if he needs one.
Good luck.
